At Convertus, we’re continuously testing new ways in which we can improve our dealers’ online presence. Purposeful experimentation makes us tick, so when the Organic Search team suggested we investigate whether headers on vehicle search result pages impact page ranking, naturally we shouted, “Hell yes!”
So, why should you care about our experiment?
Because we’re working to uncover new ways in which we can improve your dealership’s page ranking, and ultimately increase traffic to your website without spending money!
We’ll explain. Our Organic Search team is currently testing out custom headers at the top of vehicle search result pages (SRPs) on our websites to determine if they help to improve page ranking performance. This means that the team is adding unique and customized pieces of copy to the top of each page, then relentlessly monitoring to determine its impacts.
What will custom SRP headers do?
The custom headers that the Organic Search team has created add a little more valuable copy to the search results page—Google loves unique, relevant content like this! The headers also encourage car shoppers to click-through to another relevant key page (e.g. finance department, service department, parts department, etc.) for further engagement with your dealership’s website. The longer they stay and interact with your website’s content, the better!
